Cornerstone Grenache
Wine
Greenock Creek Cornerstone Grenache is handpicked from the winery's Marananga vineyard in the Barossa Valley, home to bush vines planted in the 1930s.
The fruit is handpicked and destemmed but not crushed. It ferments in shallow open fermenters with several pump overs. It is then drained and basket pressed, keeping the free run and pressings separate.
The wine is racked to seasoned French oak for malolactic fermentation and 12-15 months of maturation. The parcels are blended one week before bottling, usually without fining or filtration.
Cherry red, Greenock Creek Cornerstone Grenache is juicy with red berry flavours, sweet spices and mineral tannins. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
